Cameroon: Shocking rape figures for Cameroun as victims fall prey to family members

Rape has often been used as a tool of torture in conflict zones in Africa, but in Cameroon where peace reigns, new research findings have exposed startling rape figures in the country.

Some 20,000 women are being raped every year according to a report published by a German NGO and the Cameroon government.

What is even more alarming is that most of the rapes are carried out within family circles with dire consequences for the victims, as Randy Joe Saah reports from Yaounde.
