The 2009/11 Cameroon Home Shirt will be worn by the team in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, but fans are getting a glimpse of it in the African Cup of Nations that is being hosted by Angola. The Cameroon football strip is manufactured by Puma and will worn by Arsenal midfielder Alexandre Song, as well as the former Barcelona and now Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o, who is their star player and arguably the most successful African footballer of all-time.

The Cameroon home shirt is predominantly green, with red shorts and yellow socks, and those are the three colours that constitute the Cameroon national flag. The Cameroon Home Shirt 2009/11 is far less controversial than some of their previous football shirts, with black sleeves having to be added to the sleeveless home shirt that they wore at the 2002 World Cup. Whilst manufacturers Puma ran into trouble when they designed a one-piece football kit for Cameroon to wear at the 2004 African Cup of Nations, which was declared illegal by FIFA.

Cameroon Away ShirtThe 2009/11 Cameroon Away Shirt is mainly yellow with thin vertical red stripes. Like the home shirt, the away shirt features the Cameroon national football team badge and a lion, which represents Cameroon’s nickname of the ‘Indomitable Lions’. Cameroon remain the most successful African nation in the history of the World Cup, as their upcoming appearance in South Africa will be their 6th in the international football tournament, and they will be confident of progressing from Group E that also features The Netherlands, Denmark and Japan.
