The defensive midfielder will be back with the Indomitable Lions soon.

Cameroon international and Arsenal’s defensive midfielder Alex Song will receive a call-up to Cameroon in the next FIFA international break after been ignored for some time, team’s coach Javier Clemente told reporters in Yaoundé on Monday.

November 17 is a FIFA day for international friendlies, and coach Clemente says he has drawn a list of Cameroonian professionals in Europe who will feature in a friendly match whose adversary and venue is yet to be revealed.

“I have prepared an initial list for our November 17 friendly match. The list will be published soon and you will all be able to see my new players,” Clemente said.

The 60-year-old Spanish manager said he had been an observer since he took over the team as head coach in August, leaving most of the task of players’ selection to his collaborators. But was now ready to bring fresh faces into the squad, especially Alex Song, who has not been summoned since Cameroon crashed out of the 2010 World Cup in the group stage.

Song was the only Cameroonian named in the Team of the Tournament at South Africa 2010.

Cameroon will play DR Congo on October 9 in the second round of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games. They won their first match against Mauritius 3-1.
