Hayatou pays courtesy call on President Mills

CAF President Issa Hayatou on Wednesday paid a courtesy a call on Ghana President, John Evans Atta Mills at the Osu Castle, Accra.
The visit by Hayatou and some members of the CAF Executive Committee was to afford them an opportunity to discuss the Glo-CAF Awards 2009 scheduled for Thursday, March 11 at the Banquet Hall, State House with the Ghanaian leader.
The CAF President and his Ghanaian counterpart also discussed issues relating to the development of football on the continent.
He also appealed to the Ghanaian government to consider bidding for the hosting rights of the Africa Cup of Nations and other CAF Competitions, stemming from its positive democratic credentials and testimony of good impressions from Sports writers across the globe.
Ghana President Mills commended Hayatou for his leadership role and expertise in the management of football on the continent.
President Mills also assured the CAF president that Ghana will make Africa proud at the South Africa 2001 World Cup while assuring of his Government’s support towards the development of the game in Africa.
