AFCON 2012 Qualifiers: Cameroon Arrive in Mauritius Without Samuel Eto’o

Cameroon arrived in Port Louis ahead of their AFCON 2012 qualifier against Mauritius without captain Samuel Eto’o.

Cameroon arrived in Port Louis today ahead of their AFCON 2012 qualifier against Mauritius on September 4 without team captain Samuel Eto’o.

The Inter striker was absent from the trip because of club engagements, according to new coach Javier Clemente.

Olympique Marseille’s Stephane Mbia was also absent having sustained a recent injury.

The 21 players and officials are staying at the Sofitel Hotel. A training session has been scheduled for Tuesday evening.

According to the Cameroonian FA (FECAFOOT), coach Clemente will hold his first meeting with the Lions tonight. The meeting is meant to restore unity to a team that suffered internal quarrels before and during the 2010 World Cup.

Cameroon are housed in Group E alongside Senegal, DR Congo and Mauritius.
