The sleepy town of Mundemba, headquarters of Ndian Division, was recently enlivened with the commissioning of the incoming Senior Divisional Officer. Well…this is already state news. And to say that there was “Item Eleven strictly on invitation” that crowned the occasion is no information for any newspaper. But note that there was much to eat and drink.
And also note that unlike other towns in Cameroon where pickpockets and armed robbers make life unbearable, Mundemba should be envied. Why? Because, the Inspector of Police did not hide facts. “Don’t worry, you can leave your cell phone and camera on the table and go and dish your food. Mundemba is not a town of criminals and pickpockets,” he informed a female journalist who had been victim in other towns like Kumba. The policeman may exaggerate but go there and you’ll discover that Mundemba has already scored high marks.
