Cameroon’s football federation (FECAFOOT) have announced the disbursement of their FIFA 2010 World Cup allocation. The body said an initial payment of €600,000 was received at the end of August.
FECAFOOT said the money would be used for the training of young players, the development of local coaches and journalists and the improvement of sports facilities.
The Indomitable Lions crashed out of the 2010 World Cup at the group stage, prompting the sacking of former manager Paul Le Guen. Cameroon also implemented a number of reforms in the national team, including the appointment of new Spanish-born coach Javier Clemente.
